where am I????

The question has been posed - where am I????? I've been trying to figure that out. :)

The short answer is that I have been feeling burned out with blogging. I thought if I took a break, maybe I'd feel the same excitement I had last year at this time - when I couldn't wait to share what was blooming in the gardens each day and spent time visiting all of my friends in Blogland.

I apologize for not posting an explanation on the blog prior to this one - and I can't tell you how guilty I feel about not visiting your blogs. Guilt is such a huge and unnecessary burden to bear, and yet... there you go.

I have been enjoying my gardens - tulips, tulips, tulips - everywhere I look. I love it. And we have been involved in several projects - this week we're getting a new roof put on the house. It's lovely - and, guess what just popped into my head: I'll have to get a photo and show you! (So, see, there is hope!)

Tomorrow we're leaving for a couple days in Seattle - to see our grandson! Spencer Ryan was born April 12. Ryan and Sara say he is absolutely perfect. I can't wait to see that for myself!

I promise I will write another post when we return home. I'll either be writing to tell you how much I have enjoyed this past year - or I'll be back into blogging and you'll see all that I've been up to the past couple months.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I've just started blogging and came across your blog. It made me smile after a hard day at work. Thank you for the recipes and the peek at the poodles. I'm jealous of your garden since all I can grow is some herbs in pots, but I love to cook with them. Now, I'm begging my husband to empty out the barrister book cases so I can put my spode in too!

Missing your presence, Kris, but sounds like you've got your hands full with life! Which is a very Good Thing. Congrats on the grandbaby!

You may get your blogging mojo back, or maybe not. As long as you're having a good time, que sera sera.

Hi Kris,
It's wonderful to see a post from you and know that you're OK. Life does get busy at times and we all lose that "blogging feeling" from time to time.
So glad to hear that your grandson has arrived and all is well. Travel safely and enjoy meeting that precious little one. Your life will never be the same..

Where were you? I thought you were quite busy in the garden and enjoying it!!! That's what is important and that you are ok. There is no obligation to blog about it ;-) !! I'm glad you're fine and happy for you and your grandchild who was born. Congratulations! In case you continue to blog, I'll be visiting you as usual!

Kris,
I have missed seeing your garden grow, but understand that we all have to take a break sometimes. Moderation in all things, you know.

And congrats on the grandbaby. He will be such a joy in your life! My first (and only so far) turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. I cannot imagine life without him. Prepare for feelings like you have never experienced before.

Enjoy your grandbaby. Perhaps seeing him will give you some blogging fodder, or reason to keep on journaling for him. I know how it feels, losing that motivation to blog, even if its for a while. Do what works best for you! It's supposed to be fun;)

I think every blogger feels a burn-out after a while. I've chosen to write very infrequently. Especially in the spring when there's so much to do!

Enjoy your new grandson.

I really enjoy blogging, but if I'm not in the right kind of mood it isn't as enchanting as it once was for me either. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy going out in blogland and visiting with people, but well, let's face it. We have lives to live too so try not to feel too guilty about it.

Kris, I am a relatively new reader, but I have missed your blog very much. I enjoy reading the everyday things as well as the gardening posts. I especially enjoy reading about gardeners in other northern climes. I am in norther NY.

I hope you decide to keep blogging, but just for the fun of it, not out of obligation.

No need to feel guilty Kris! Blogging isn't life or death - it's meant to be fun and I think we all need a break from it. Enjoy your time in Seattle. I'll look forward to reading what you've been up to upon your return.

Glad you're back. Have a safe trip. I, too, have a Spencer for a grandchild. Good name-great kids! Can't wait to see what's up in your garden. I lost about 40 roses last winter but should have known better than to plant stuff that might make it not certain to. Take care and post pictures soon. Stephanie

Kris, glad to see you back. Is this your first grandchild? If so, you will never be the same. I have two grandsons who are my world even if I only see them every few months. I have been in the same blogging slump. Lately I am happy to write for my family and the few blogging friends who check in. Hope you do continue, though, even if only once in awhile.

Don't apologize! If something isn't bringing joy into your life it is time to give it up for awhile.

I am currently suffering from job burn-out, wish I could figure out a way to get over it.
