I love my birthday. I have never been able to understand people who decide to quit celebrating. As they say, getting a year older sure beats the alternative! May is such a great month - our anniversary, Mother's Day, all those great spring blooms, warmer days, my birthday, the first long weekend of summer - what's not to like.
I don't need a big celebration - just best wishes from family and friends and a nice dinner or boat ride or day in the garden. I'm pretty easy to please - but I'm ecstatic that this is MY day.
We're going to a fun little cafe for lunch - they have a limited menu with daily specials and there is usually a quiche or salad that catches my eye. It's raining again today, so I'll probably read this afternoon - no gardening for sure. And tonight we have a couple good movies to choose from. It sounds perfect.
