Wally's Garden

Country Dancer - Kris' garden!

A couple days ago Peter Hoh (Growing Things) left a comment asking if I had seen a local news show that did a feature on a Minneapolis gardener who is featured in a book "1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die" by Rae Spencer-Jones.

I thought I would give you the link because it's a really cool place to see. If you're interested, check it out. Click on the video that shows up on the right-hand side of the screen.

Hopefully someday this will be a public garden that everyone can enjoy, but in the meantime it's cool just to see it in this video. I have the 1001 Gardens book on hold at the library - I'll let you know what that's like when I've had a chance to look through it.

(My own little blooms kind of pale by comparison - lol)

P.S. I just went to Growing Things to thank Peter for the heads up - you should all go over there - he did a much nicer post on this than I did!! Thanks Peter!

What a coincidence! I was just at a bookstore checking out the gardening section and saw this book. I didn't see this particular garden, but was thinking of how I could ever possibly see all of these gardens in my lifetime. Thanks for the link!

Wow ! That is just amazing I can't believe he doesn't show it off. I will have to look for this book. Thanks for sharing.

I had a very nice chat with an arborist who was minding the gazebo at the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association garden at the State Fair. She told me she knew of a few private gardens that were large enough to employ gardeners, and she was hoping to land one of those jobs someday. That would be a sweet job.

Wow, I can't believe all that was done in just seven years and that "less than 12 people" have seen the garden.
Thanks for the link, Kris.
